‘I can fix a car…’: Rahul Gandhi talks about Lambretta, Aviation & EVs during Bharat Jodo Yatra (WATCH)

In a chat with The Bombay Journey of Mashable India, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi talked about the idea of mobility on land, water, and air.

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi, during his Bharat Jodo Yatra in Delhi, had a conversation about the digital ecosystem of the country including RD 350, Lambrettas, Drones, and EVs & mobility in India. In a chat with The Bombay Journey of Mashable India, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi talked about the idea of mobility on land, water, and air.

During the chat, Rahul stated that he likes the idea of mobility. While the host asked him about cycling, Rahul Gandhi said that he likes to carry on with some sports. Talking about aviation, Gandhi said that he learned from his father Rajiv Gandhi, who was a pilot, that flying is less about the airplane and more about the attitude.

Talking about his journey in the third class compartment of the train he said that he wanted to feel what the migrant labourers have gone through. Rahul Gandhi opened up about not owning a car and told that he drives his mother’s car and he is more interested in biking than driving cars. He said that he has knowledge about cars and can fix them but he is not obsessed with cars. He also talked about driving Lambretta and said that he does not like Enfileds. Rahul Gandhi said that Delhi’s roads are dangerous and now he likes cycling over bikes.

When he was asked about EVs, he said that India lacks the foundation and is not strategically done. He told that one of his friends in automotive research told him about having decentralised engines in cars.

Coming back to politics, he was asked about people giving up their Indian passports, he said that idea of being Indian is attacked and rights are being taken away. Talking about name-calling he said that he does not have to take it and also he does not hate anyone.
