New Delhi: The former husband of IAS Tina Dabi and the second topper of the 2015 UPSC batch, Athar Amir Khan, who is currently posted in Srinagar has got engaged to Dr Mehreen Qazi, an IAS officer.
Athar Amir Khan, who is a municipal commissioner at Srinagar took to Instagram to post his and his soon-to-be wife’s picture together. He captioned the image with the hashtag ‘engagement.’

The news comes months after Tina Dabi married IAS officer Dr Pradeep Gawande in April this year, in a private ceremony in Jaipur where both of them are posted.
Moreover, Athar and Dabi tied the knot in 2018 after dating for years. Reportedly, the two met for the first time in 2015 at the IAS felicitation ceremony in New Delhi. The 2015 UPSC was topped by Tiina Dabi whereas Athar came second. The inter-religious marriage was attended by several politicians.
However, in November 2020, the two filed a divorce in a family court in Jaipur, and was granted in August 2021.
Athar and Tina were initially posted in the same city – in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara. Later, Tina was posted to Sri Ganganagar as Chief Executive Officer, Zila Parishad. Athar was posted to Jaipur as the CEO of Zila Parishad. However, Athar was shifted from the Rajasthan cadre to Jammu and Kashmir and is currently in Srinagar.
Tina Dabi now is posted in the finance department as the joint secretary in the Rajasthan government. Moreover, Dabi’s husband Dr Pradeep Gawantde who is a 2013 batch IAS officer is currently serving as the director of Archeology and Museums, Rajasthan.
