“I’m Dangerous”: Thieves burgle Kerala Bank after performing pooja, threaten police not to follow

After arriving at the crime scene, the police found a picture of a deity, a spear, and lime with yellow thread.

New Delhi: Being a Hindu, it is very common to start any work by performing a ‘pooja’ (prayers). However, you would be surprised to know that a few thieves reportedly applied this practice in their acts. The incident happened in Kerala’s Kollam district.

Gold worth Rs 30 lakh and Rs 4 lakh

The thieves targeted ‘Pathanpuram Banksrs’, a private financial institution in Janata Junction Pathanpuram for their loot. They ran away with gold worth Rs 30 lakh and Rs 4 lakh cash, kept in two lockers.

The theft was reported by the owner of the financial institution, Ramchandran Nair on the morning of May 16 when he reached his firm. In his complaint, he said the burglars took off with 100 sovereigns of gold and the cash.

Police find deity, lime, and yellow thread

After receiving the complaint, the district police arrived at the spot. They found some religious ritual was performed near the locker. Moreover, they found a picture of a deity, a spear, and lime with yellow thread according to media reports. Additionally, the police also found human hair all around that was apparently used to hide their traces from the police dog.

 

Besides, the police got a threat note. In the threat, the burglars wrote, ”I am dangerous, do not follow me.”

”The robbers intruded into the room of a three-story building through the roof. They also break the iron grills at the main entrance,” said a police officer to the media.

He added that the burglars were equipped with a cutter to get steal the gold and cash from the locker.
