In a 2020 complaint to Police, Shraddha wrote “Aftab scares, blackmail’s me that he will cut me up and throw me away”

Shraddha Walkar Murder Case: In a 2020 letter to the Police, Shradda had written that Aftab scares her and blackmails her that he would cut her and throw her away.

New Delhi: In a new development into the Shraddha Walkar murder case, lodged a complaint two years ago to the police in Maharasthra’s Vasi where she had feared for her life

In a complaint to the police after she was beaten up by Aftab Poonawala, her live-in partner she had said that his family knew about violent behaviour, the Delhi Police has found in the probe.

Now, the Delhi police are verifying this complaint and if any action was taken by the Vasai cops after the complaint was filed by Shraddha.

The letter dated November 23, 2020, shows similarity to what she had shared with her friends and co-worker over Whatsapp and Instagram chat around the same time. This is the same time when she shared a picture of herself with bruised face with them.

In the letter, Shraddha Walkar, mentioned that “Aftab was blackmailing me to kill me or hurt me whenever he sees me anywhere.”

She further said, that Aftab tried to kill me by suffocating me and Aftab scares, and blackmail’s me that he will kill me, cut me up in pieces, and throw me away.

The chats also mentioned she going to the police and Aftab Poonawala moving out after his parents’ intervention.

Shraddha and Aftab met each other through the dating app Bumble and got into a relationship around 2019.

On May 18, 2022, Aaftab killed Shraddha and chopped her body into 35 pieces, and disposed them of in different areas of the city. He cleaned the crime scene from Delhi’s Chhatarpur apartment with some chemicals and also disposed of all stained clothes.

After chopping the body parts, he stored them in a refrigerator before throwing them.

Also during the Police investigation, it was found that after killing her, he browsed the internet for ways to remove all traces of his crime.
