Independence Day 2022 UPDATES: PM Modi unfurls tricolour at Red Fort, addresses nation

“Two big challenges we face today – corruption & ‘Parivaarvaad’ or nepotism. Corruption hollowing the country like a termite, we’ve to fight it”

New Delhi: On the occasion of 76th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hoisted the national flag and delivered the customary address to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort in New Delhi.

Prior to that, he inspected the Guard of Honour which was positioned directly in front of the National Flag across the moat below the ramparts.

# Tricolour balloons were released from the Red Fort, soon after PM Narendra Modi concluded his address on the 76th Independence Day. 

# PM Narendra Modi concludes his Independence Day address with ‘Jai Hind’.

# “PM says, “…Be it education or science, women of the country are at top…Be it sports or battlefield, India’s women are stepping forward with a new capability&confidence. I see immense contribution by women in 25 yrs to come, much more than that in the 75-yr journey..”.
