MiG-21 aircraft crashes in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh.

New Delhi: An Indian Air Force MiG-21 fighter aircraft crashed near Hanumangarh in Rajasthan today (May 8, Monday).

SP Sudhir Chaudhary said that two civilian women died and a man was injured after the plane crashed on their house in Bahlolnagar district.

The aircraft which crashed today had taken off from Suratgarh during a routine training sortie.

According to IAF Sources, the pilot is safe and for the rescue operation the army’s helicopter has reached the accident site. 

The Inidan Air Force said that an inquiry has been constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident.

Rescue operation underway.

In July last year, Defence Ministry had informed that two pilots in a twin-seater Mig-21 trainer aircraft lost their lives after sustaining fatal injuries when it crashed near Barmer district of Rajasthan.

A Cheetah helicopter had crashed near Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang area in October 5, 2022, leading to the death of one Indian Army pilot.
