‘Indian civilisation will survive if institution of family is preserved’: Amit Shah at Pramukh Swami Maharaj Shatabdi Mahotsav in Ahmedabad

Addressing the people present at the celebrations, he talked about Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s values and the importance of preserving the institution of the family. 

New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah attended the Pramukh Swami Maharaj Shatabdi Mahotsav on December 15 in Ahmedabad. BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha is hosting a month-long celebration for the 100th birth anniversary of Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Addressing the people present at the celebrations, he talked about Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s values and the importance of preserving the institution of the family.

Amit Shah said that he was surprised to see the arrangements of the town set up to teach about humanity and the teachings of Swamiji. He said that he experienced peace and divinity, also people are taking away the values of Swamiji. He told that in the ups and downs of his life, he used to receive the first call from Pramukh Swami Maharaj. He said that Pramukh Swami Maharaj created a group of saints. built temples, helped people and developed family values. Amit Shah said that Indian civilisation will survive only if the institution of family is preserved. He appreciated BAPS for feeding people selflessly.

PM Narendra Modi attended the inaugural function of the celebrations along with Gujarat’s Governor Acharya Devvrat, CM Bhupendra Patel and saints from BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. He witnessed the divine ceremonies and presentations and went to offer flowers to the 30 feet tall idol of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

Pramukh Swami Maharaj was a spiritual leader who is also behind the establishment of the Akshardham temples. BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha was established in 1907 by Shastriji Maharaj and is based on the teachings of the Vedas and spirituality. The Permanent Mission of India and BAPS also organised an event to celebrate the birth anniversary at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
