‘Indian women still see the moon through a sieve…,’ says Rajasthan Minister Govind Ram Meghwal (VIDEO)

 Govind Ram Meghwal made the remark on Saturday (August 21). He drew sharp criticism from the BJP for his comment.

New Delhi: Rajasthan minister Govind Ram Meghwal’s comment on Hindu women doing karwa chauth has triggered a row on social media as the minister is drawing flak for his comment that Indian women still see the moon through a sieve while women in the developed countries live in the world of science.

Rajasthan Minister said, “Women in China, US are living in the world of science, but it is unfortunate women in India see through sieve, talk about the long life of their husband on Karwa Chauth. But a husband never does the same for the long life of his wife.”(Quoted PTI)

Govind Ram Meghwal made the remark on Saturday (August 21). He drew sharp criticism from the BJP for his comment. The BJP also demanded an apology from him and asked Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to take action against him.

Meanwhile, at the event CM Ashok Gehlot was also present.

After the video has gone viral on social media, Rajasthan BJP spokesperson and MLA Ramlal Sharma reminded him about astronaut Kalpana Chawla.

Sharma said that the minister has  insulted crores of women of the country. He further said that Govind Ram Meghwal should apologise and withdraw his statement.
