New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Indore today. While addressing the event PM Modi welcomed everyone on behalf of the countrymen.
PM said that the voice of India is being heard on the global stage. Now people look up to India with hope & curiosity.
He said People call Indore a city but he says it’s a ‘Daur’ which walks ahead of time and carries heritage along with it.
PM Modi said this Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is special in many ways.
PM called all Indian diasporas the brand ambassadors of India and of Make in India.
Launch of the commemorative stamp
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of Suriname Chandrikapersad Santokhi and President of Guyana Irfaan Ali also launched a commemorative stamp at the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
PM Modi was greeted by the President of Suriname, Chandrikapersad Santokhi as he addressed the event. He also expressed his condolences over the death of the Prime Minister’s mother Heeraben Modi.

PM Modi arrives in Indore
PM Modi arrived in Indore, Madya Pradesh earlier today to attend the ongoing three-day Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.
PM Modi was welcomed by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan at the airport.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is being organized after four years in person, this year it’s being organised for the first time since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
