New Delhi: At least eight people lost their lives and several others were injured after a stepwell collapsed at the Indore temple today during the Ram Navami celebration.
Officials involved in the rescue operations informed that 19 people have been rescued so far.
Around 25-30 people were feared trapped in the incident at the Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal Temple in the Patel Nagar area.
The incident is said to have taken place at around 12 PM when devotees were offering prayers during a hawan at the temple.

Soon after the incident local administration launched the rescue operation to rescue people.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that he has taken cognizance of the incident and also termed the incident “unfortunate”.’

Prime Minister also Tweeted that he is extremely pained by the mishap in Indore temple.
