Jalandhar Hit And Run Case: Man crushes police officer for trying to stop his speeding car in Shahkot area, disturbing video surfaces

A CCTV footage of the entire alarming incident is now doing rounds on the internet with netizens raising questions about the law & order situation

New Delhi: In a disturbing Hit and Run case reported from the Jalandhar District of Punjab, a police official was left severely injured after a man crushed him with his car near the high-tech checkpoint in Kawan Pattan village os Sahkot, adjacent to river Satluj.

A CCTV footage of the entire alarming incident is now doing rounds on the internet with netizens raising questions about the law & order situation in the north Indian state.

Speeding Car runs over policeman in Jalandhar

In the disturbing video, police personnel ACI Sujit Singh can be seen attempting to stop a speeding white Maruti Zen by standing on the road & signaling the driver to pull over. However, ignoring his signals, the accused continues to drive at high speed and rams his car against the policeman after losing control of the steering wheel.

The brutal hit from the car vehicle sent Surjit flying in the air as he came down crashing on the road after being dragged along with the vehicle for a few meters.

Following the accident, the accused Zen driver manages to bring back his car onto the highway but loses control shortly after as the vehicle collides with the nearby divider. Despite all this, he keeps on driving and eventually flees away from the scene, leaving the policeman injured on the road.

ASI Surjit Critical in Hospital

Meanwhile, injured ASI officer Sujit Singh was immediately taken to a nearby government hospital from where he was later shifted to DMCH Ludhiana considering his critical health situation.

Hilling from Bajwa Kalan district, Sujit is currently a part of Jalandhar Dehat Police and was deployed at Kanwan Pattan Village’s high-tech checkpoint when the incident took place.
