Jharkhand: Brazen attack on youth, petrol hurled & set on fire, Kasimuddin is key suspect

New Delhi: Days after a minor girl named Ankita was set on fire in Jharkhand, a similar incident emerged from Garhwa’s Shri Banshidhar Nagar area in the state.

An attempt has been made to burn a person named Deepak Soni alive by pouring petrol over him.

If reports are to be believed, Deepak Soni had a fight with a person named Kasimuddin over some issue. The quarrel escalated into heated arguments.

After some scuffle between the two, Kasimuddin poured petrol over 37-year-old Soni and set him on fire. The incident took place around 8.15 pm on Friday night.

Soni, who got seriously injured in the incident was immediately rushed to the city Untari sub-divisional hospital and admitted there.

After the first aid in the sub-division hospital, he was referred to the Sadar Hospital for better treatment.

Meanwhile, the local police have arrested the accused Kasimuddin as well.

A video of the incident has also gone viral on social media wherein a man can be seen bringing a flammable substance filled with petrol and pouring it over the victim.

A police official of Nagar Untari police station informed that a case has been registered against the accused and the police have launched an investigation into the matter.

Previously, Ankita was set ablaze while in sleep by her neighbor Shahrukh by pouring petrol on her. The incident had drawn protests across the state and sharp outrage on the Indian side of social media.
