Former Bihar Chief Minister and Hindustan Awam Morcha chief has invited criticism from people over his remark on the rising rape and murder cases in the state on Wednesday.

New Delhi: Former Bihar Chief Minister and Hindustan Awam Morcha chief has invited criticism from people over his remark on the rising rape and murder cases in the state. He made the remark when asked the question about the Hajipur rape incident and the viral video by presspersons. He also said Bihar has a population of 12 crore; these incidents are common in the state.

On Tuesday, Manji arrived in Hajipur to participate in the death anniversary of the late RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh.

Owing to the large number of people in the state, these incidents are obvious to occur. He further said that the Bihar government took action promptly and launched action to catch the perpetrator.

Notably, a 13-year-old girl was gang-raped in Bihar’s Hajipur on September 10. The accused are said to be 4-5 boys who not only raped the girl but also recorded the incident on camera. Later, they shared the video on social media.

Talking to the media, Manjhi added that the incident could be a conspiracy of opposition to defame the government.

In fresh crime on Tuesday, one person died while nine others sustained injuries in separate firing incidents at different locations in Bihar’s Begusarai district.

On the incident in Begusarai, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said that he had instructed the officers to keep an eye on such incidents.
