Kanjhawala Car Accident | Men in the car knew woman was stuck under the car, but kept driving..: Accused confession to cops

New Delhi: Five men arrested for dragging and killing a 20-year-old woman by a car in the early hours of the New Year in Delhi’s Kanjhawala have admitted that they knew that a woman was stuck under the vehicle, said sources.

According to reports, they told police that did not stop their vehicle as they were scared.

20-year-old Anjali Singh was returning from work when her scooty was hit by a car and she was dragged for about 13 km. Her leg was stuck in the car’s front wheel, following which she was dragged away by the car, while her friend Nidhi fell on the other side and suffered minor injuries.

On January 1, all five men were arrested hours after Anjali was dragged from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala in North Delhi.

According to them, who were allegedly drunk, told the police that when they realised that a woman was stuck under the wheels of the case. The said they kept driving as they had no idea about what to do next, so they took multiple U-turns so that the body could drop from the vehicle.

They also said they were terrified, and scared that if they stop the car then they would be caught and would be charged with murder.

Amit Khanna, who was driving the car did not have a driving license.

The post-mortem reports said that Anjali suffered more than 40 injuries.
