Kedarnath: Helicopter carrying pilgrims from Phata crashes, 7 dead

Helicopter crashes in Kedarnath: Six people including two pilots were killed after a helicopter carrying pilgrims crashed in Uttrakhand today.

New Delhi: A helicopter carrying Kedarnath pilgrims from Phata in Uttrakhand crashed on Tuesday morning. According to reporst, seven people including two pilots are feared dead.

Abhinav Kumar, Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister confirmed that seven people were killed in the helicopter crash in Uttrakhan’s Phata.

Soon after the tragic incident, the administration team has left for relief and rescue work.

The incident is said to have taken place 2 kilometres away from Kedarnath.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his grief over the unfortunate helicopter crash at Garuda Chatti near Kedarnath.

Taking to Twitter he wrote, “Very sad news has been received of some casualties in the unfortunate helicopter crash at Garuda Chatti near Kedarnath. SDRF and district administration teams have reached the spot for relief and rescue work. A detailed inquiry has been ordered into this tragic incident.” (Translated from Hindi)

Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his condolences to the families of all those who lost their lives in this accident.
