KS Eshwarappa receives video call from PM Modi after being denied ticket for Karnataka polls (VIDEO)

The BJP leader received a video call from PM Narendra Modi where the Prime Minister asked him to work hard to win in Shivamogga.

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa and his son KE Kantesh were denied tickets for Karnataka Assembly Elections, while many leaders quit the party after being denied a ticket, Eshwarappa supported the decision. The BJP leader received a video call from PM Narendra Modi where the Prime Minister asked him to work hard to win in Shivamogga.

After the call, Eshwarappa addressed the media and said that he was not expecting a call from PM Modi. He said that the conversation inspired him to win the Shivamogga seat and they will try all possibilities to bring the BJP back in power in Karnataka. He added that he told the PM that supporting the party is not something special he has done.

On April 20, after being denied the ticket, the former Deputy CM of Karnataka stated that he is not angry with BJP. Eshwarappa added that those who have left BJP and joined Congress have to be brought back to the party and showed his confidence that BJP will win with an absolute majority.

Also, recently, the BJP leader also announced his retirement from electoral politics.

BJP has fielded Channabasappa from the Shivamogga seat, who filed his nomination papers in the presence of KS Eshwarappa.

There have been reports about PM Modi calling party leaders after being denied a ticket in various assembly elections to take them in confidence to not leave the party.

Congress attacked BJP after the video call between PM Modi and Eshwarappa and has alleged the Prime Minister of calling a corrupt politician.

Karnataka Assembly Polls will take place on May 10 and the results will be announced on May 13.
