Lal Singh Chadda: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma asks Aamir Khan to postpone Assam visit, says “We don’t want the focus to shift…”

Public also called for boycott so that they can teach him some lesson for the remarks he had made around a few years ago.

New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s recent release ‘Lal Singh Chadda’ who is having a tough time on screen. Now, Aamir has been asked to postpone his Assam trip.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma requested Aamir to delay his visit so that the focus doesn’t get diverted from Independence Day celebrations. He said he is in touch with the Laal Singh Chaddha’ star and date will be set for his visit only after Independence Day.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “We don’t want the focus to be shifted from Independence Day.”

According to sources, Aamir wanted to visit the state on August 14th but now it is said that actor will be visiting the state on August 16th.

Sources said that Sarma will also watch the film with Aamir and his entire once he comes to Assam.

Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha, was released in the theatres earlier this week amid growing calls for a boycott.

Laal Singh Chaddha, is an official remake of a Hollywood classic Forrest Gump.

So far, Laal Singh Chaddha” has collected Rs 12 crore net on the first day of its release at the India box office.

In June this year, Aamir Khan had donated Rs 25 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for devastating floods.

Himanta Biswa Sarma had thanked him for extending a helping hand to the flood-affected people of the sate.

Aamir, who is called as Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist’ had last visited the state nearly 10 years ago. He had then stayed in Tezpur.
