After being deboarded from the train, the duo was taken to the railway police by the right wing outfit. The man was identified as Asif Shaikh, who runs a small electronic shop and the woman is said to be a private school teacher.

However, Government Railway Police (GRP) let the duo off after recording their statement. The parents of Shaikh and the woman were also called. It was found that the duo are family friends for years. ”They were both adults and there was no offense, they were let go,” said GRP Superintendent of Police Nivedita Gupta.

The police did not register any case against the Bajrang Dal men as the victims decided not to file any case.

”We were not aware that the man was mishandled in any way while being brought to the police station and neither did the two tell us,” said the police.

According to media reports, the woman screamed at Bajrang Dal men’s wrong information saying, ”Your one misunderstanding can spoil my life.” ”I’m an adult, I work as a teacher in a school, I teach children,” she added.
