New Delhi: Several instances of dog bites have been reported in last few days, with most of them happening in urban & metropolitan cities including Delhi-NCR and in Mumbai. In latest incident, a Zomato delivery boy was attacked and bitten by a dog in the lift of a high-rise society in Maharashtra’s Panvel.
The delivery boy gets bitten by the dog as soon as he comes out of the lift of upscale society. The incident reportedly happened last month on August 29, however, the video has surfaced now.
The victim was identified as Narendra Periyar, who went to drop an order in a floor of the society. While returning, when he comes out of the lift , the German Shepherd dog attacks him and bites his crotch, as seen in the CCTV footage.

As it appears in the video, the delivery boy could be seen coming down in the elevator after delivering product and got a bit shaken at first sight of dog. While he cautiously tries to dodge the canine, he was suddenly attacked by the dog and before he could realize, his crotch was bitten. Much later, he realized that he was injured & bleeding profusely.
The delivery boy was admitted in hospital and the dog owner is reportedly bearing his medical expenses.
Fresh incident of dog bite has alarmed the residents & apartment dwellers as the dog bite risk remains for everyone. They are demanding that pet owners muzzle their dogs and must collar their mouth before taking out.
