New Delhi: Gulabrao Patil, senior Shiv Sena leader & Maharashtra minister on Sunday sparked off a major controversy with his bizarre & distasteful remarks on BJP MP & veteran actress Hema Malini.
Gulabrao compared the roads in his constituency in Jalgaon district to Hema Malini’s cheeks. He made the obnoxious statement while addressing an election meeting for Bodhwad Nagar panchayat polls in the district.
The incident came to light after Minister’s video landed on social media and netizens took the minister to task for dishing out sexist remarks against a serving Parliamentarian.
In the video, Patil could be heard asking the political opponents to visit his constituency and see how good the quality of roads are there.

“Those who have been MLAs for 30 years should come to my constituency and see the roads. If they are not like Hema Malini’s cheeks, then I will resign,” Water supply and Sanitation minister in Uddhav Thackeray govt said.
MCW takes note, demands apology
Rupali Chakankar, Maharashtra State Commission for Women has took cognisance of his remarks and has demanded apology, failing which legal action will be initiated.
Rajasthan Minister wanted roads to be like Katrina’s cheeks
Just last month, newly appointed Rajasthan minister Rajendra Guha made a similar detestable remark when he said that roads in his villages should be as smooth as that of Katrina Kaif’s cheeks.
A video had gone viral in which he was heard telling the road block officer about this.
