New Delhi: Indian boxing champion MC Mary Kom have appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah’s help to tackle the worsening law and order situation in Manipur.
Taking to micro-blogging site, Tiwtter, Mary Kom wrote, “My state Manipur is burning, kindly help”. She also tagged PM Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh in her post.

Earlier, the offcials informed that the Internet services have been suspended in the state.

Internet services were suspented for five days amid incidents of fighting among youths, and volunteers of different communities after a rally was organised by All Tribals Students Union (ATSU) Manipur who were protesting against the demand for inclusion of Meitei/Meetei in the ST category.
The statement also read that the internet was suspended after some anti-social elements were using social media extensively for the transmission of images, hate speech and hate video messages.

The two reson behind the current situation that has led to the current situation in the state is CM Biren Singh’s move to protect the forest faces resistance from illegal Immigrants and drug cartels. Also, the Manipur High Court’s recent direction to State Government to consider the inclusion of Meitei in ST has led to an outburst from the tribal community who are ST, sources told ANI.
