New Delhi: A suspected case of mass suicide has come to light from Sangli district of Mahrashtra, where nine members of a family have been found dead.

The bodies of 9 individuals were reportedly found from two buildings of the Mhaisal locality in Sangli. The houses belong to two brothers whose families lived with them in separate houses.

The incident brings back tragic memories of Delhi’s Burari episode, when 11 people of the family committed suicide over some occult beliefs.

The deceased brothers have been identified as Manik & Popat Yallapa Vhanmore.

Manik is the elder brother and was employed as veterinary doctor. At his home, bodies of his mother, wife & 2 children have been found.

At Popat’s house, bodies of his wife & 2 children were located by the locals.

The incident has created horror in the locality as neighbours weren’t aware of it unless the police team entered the house and found 9 corpses.

The police is suspecting it to be a case of mass suicide. Probe is underway to find out the reason of their death.
Mhaisal town of Sangli district of Maharashtra came into spotlight when 19 female fetuses were found dumped near a water stream.
