
New Delhi: Three people, all women were killed and several others were injured after an Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG-21 Fighter aircraft crashed into their home in a Rajasthan village today (May 8. Monday), officials have said.
The IAF MiG-21 Fighter aircraft which crashed today had taken off from the Suratgarh airbase for a routine exercise. According to reports, the aircraft crashed near Bahlol Nagar in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh due to a technical snag.
The IAF saaid that the pilot of the aircraft was ejected and he is reported to be safe.

Soon after the crash, the IAF said that a helicopter was rushed to the spot to rescue the pilot who had sustained minor injuries.
The IAF also said that a probe has been ordered to ascertain the reason of the crash.

Meanwhile, the Police said that a rescue operation has been launched in the area where IAF’s MiG-21 aircraft had crashed.
Earlier this year in January, two IAF fighter jets – a Mirage 2000 and a Sukhoi Su-30 had crashed during a training exercise, which killed two pilots.
