Monsoon Session: 19 opposition Rajya Sabha MPs suspended over ruckus

Nineteen opposition MPs of Rajya Sabha have been suspended on Tuesday for this week of the Monsoon Session.

New Delhi: Nineteen opposition MPs of Rajya Sabha have been suspended on Tuesday for this week of the Monsoon Session in Parliament. It is reported they were suspended by the Chairman for raising slogans and creating a ruckus. They also entered well of the House and raised the slogan.

Following the development, the house was adjourned for 20 minutes.

The names include: Sushmita Dev, Mausam Noor, Shanta Chhetri, Dola Sen, Santanu Sen, Abhi Ranjan Biswar, Md. Nadimul Haque, M. Hamamed Abdulla, B. Lingaiah Yadav, A.A. Rahim, Ravihandra Vaddiraju, S. Kalyanasundaram, R. Girranjan, N.R. Elango, V. Sivadasan, Damodar Rao Divakonda, Sandosh Kumar P., and Kanimozhi NVN Somu.

The most suspended MPs are from Mamta Banerjee-led All India Trinamool Congress, followed by M.K. Stalin-led Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, K. Chandrashekar Rao-led Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

The latest development came just a day after four MPs of Congress of Lok Sabha were suspended for the rest of the monsoon session for unruly behaviour and disrupting the proceedings of the House.

The four MPs were protesting with placards and shouting slogans against the price rise. Moreover, they also ignored the repeated warning from Speaker Om Birla.
