MP: Civil supplies officer gets show-cause notice for servicing cold, poor-quality tea to CM Shivraj Singh

In a bizarre incident, a junior civil supplies officer was issued a show-cause notice for serving cold and inferior quality tea to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan

New Delhi: In a bizarre incident, a junior civil supplies officer was issued a show-cause notice for serving cold and inferior quality tea to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The incident reportedly happened when the MP CM stopped at Khajuraho airport in Chhatarpur district for a brief stay on Monday while campaigning for a civic body election. So far, there is no response has been received from Chouhan’s side.

Officer has 3 days to replay

The notice was served by SDM DP Dwivedi of Chhatarpur’s Rajnagar sub-divisional magistrate to junior supply officer Rakesh Kanauha for violating the VIP protocol by serving poor-quality tea.

It is reported that other guests with the CM were also served the same quality tea. According to the district administration, it is a matter of embarrassment that the tea served to CM was inferior in quality and cold.

The JSO has to answer in three days as to why strict action should not be taken.

”It was a breach of the protocol over following VIP duty. The notice stated why strict action should not be taken against the JSO. The JSO has been given three days to reply otherwise strict action will be taken that will be one-sided,” read the notice served to JSO.
