Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi & RCP Singh, ministers in Modi cabinet resign

While Mukhtar Naqvi was in-charge of Minority Affairs ministry, RCP Singh was the Steel Minister in the Modi cabinet 2.0.

New Delhi: Union ministers Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and RCP Singh tendered their resignation from the Modi cabinet on Wednesday.

The terms of both the senior ministers including Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and RCP Singh are set to expire by Thursday and they will cease to be a member of Parliament from Friday.

While Mukhtar Naqvi was in-charge of Minority Affairs ministry, RCP Singh was the Steel Minister in the Modi cabinet 2.0.

According to reports, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the role of two senior minister for their contributions during Wednesday cabinet meet, thereby dropping enough hints that the duo were exiting from the Council of Ministers.

A leading portal reports that Naqvi may be heading for ‘bigger and better’ portfolio in days ahead. Citing media reports, it said that the BJP may project Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi as vice-presidential candidate in the elections, scheduled in August this year.
