New Delhi: After National Investigation Agency received a mail from an unidentified individual claiming to be a Talibani member who had threatened to carry out a terror attack in Mumbai, said police sources on Friday.

Sources said the NIA apprised the Mumbai Police about the development after which various cities of Maharashtra have been put on alert.

Soon after the threat mail was received, the NIA along with Mumbai Police started a joint investigation to find out the truth.

Bomb Threat In 2022

In January this year, a threat call was received at Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai where the unknown caller threatened to blow up the school.

Mumbai Police said that the school received a call at around at 4:30 pm on the landline. According to the caller, the bomb was planted at the school.

Also, various parts of the city received a similar call informing about the bombs planted in October last year.

Mumbai Police received a phone call where the caller informed them that they have planted bombs in several places across the city.

Also, Mumbai Police informed that they received a call where the caller claimed that three bombs have been planted in the city at Infinity Mall Andheri, PVR Mall Juhu, and Sahara Hotel Airport.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened in several areas and attempts are underway to nab the unidentified caller.
