New Delhi: The two accused who killed a Hindu tailor, Kanhaiya Lal, in Rajasthan’s Udaipur on Tuesday, are said to be linked to a Pakistan-based extremist organisation.
The horrific incident was captured on camera and soon the video went viral on social media.
According to reports it is said that the Kanhaiya Lal was killed over a social media post supporting BJP leader Nupur Sharma.
The killers have been identified as Gaus Mohammed and Riyaz Ahmed.
Both admitted to the killing of Kanhaiya Lal and also threatened PM Narendra Modi in another video.
A video that is doing rounds on social media is said to have been recorded on June 17, and emerged only after the murder of the tailor on Tuesday. In that video, the two Muslim men can be heard describing their intentions to carry out an act similar to what took place in Udaipur on Tuesday.
After the incident the video of the gruesome murder have gone viral on social media where Kanhaiya Lal’s body can be seen lying on the pavement outside his shop.
Murder and Pakistan link
Both the accused — Gaus Mohammed and Riyaz Ahmed are said to be associated with a Muslim fundamentalist organisation based in Pakistan — Dawat-e-Islami.
According to the source, close to the investigation said that this organisationhas links with Barelvi pan-Islamic Tehreek-e-Labbaik extremist organization in Pakistan.
Currently, both the accused are lodged at the Charbhuja Police station in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district.
Threat to PM Modi
Meanwhile, following this horrific incident the security agencies have started a detailed investigation to assess the threat to PM Modi’s life after video of the accused threatening him emerged on social media.
Also, prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC were imposed in Rajasthan on Tuesday.
