The plane crashed into a river gorge with 72 people on board after it took off from Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport at 10:33 am on 15th January. Minutes before landing in Pokhara, the Aircraft crashed on the bank of the Seti River as per reports from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal. 68 were confirmed dead today including five Indians.

As per Cirium Fleets data that tracks aircraft fleet, equipment and cost, the 9N-ANC aircraft was delivered to Kingfisher Airlines in 2007, which was bought by Thailand’s Nok Air in 2013 and later sold to Nepal’s Yeti Airlines in 2019.

According to reports by aircraft accident investigation experts, the possible reasons for this calamity could be mishandling, malfunctioning of the aircraft system, or pilot fatigue among others. They further said that the detailed investigation would reveal the exact reasons for the accident. And the officials revealed that the black boxes of the aircraft had been recovered from the site on Monday to do the same.
