News Nation Journalist Deepak Chaurasia says he wasn’t drunk, blames painkillers; issues apology-(VIRAL VIDEO)

New Delhi: Days after a video of Journalist Deepak Chaurasia had gone viral on social media where he could be seen fumbling on air while reporting the tragic Tamil Nadu helicopter crash which claimed lives of CDS Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife and 12 others.

After facing criticism and trolls on social media, the anchor from reputed News Channel clarified on Monday that he wasn’t drunk but he was fumbling due to the side effects of the painkiller.

He  thanked his well wishers who had been inquiring about him. He said the video was not full truth.

He said that he had attended a wedding in his family he had danced so much that pain from his old injury was raised. He said that since the show was so important that he could have not left it unattended So he had taken painkiller before hosting the show.

Deepak Chaurasia said that it was his mistake that he had hosted the show after taking painkiller in large quantity. He said he wasn’t drunk but it was all due to the side effect of the painkiller that he had taken.

He went on to say that too many things are said about the video, but there is no truth in it. News Nation anchor further said that he have been a journalist for over 25 years no one needs to teach him ethics of journalism.

He further went on to apologize to his viewers and also thanked all those who have been supporting him.

In the video that has been circulated rapidly on social media shows Deepak Chaurasia mixing up names, place and events.

Secondly he mixes names and says that Gen VK Singh had lost his life instead of CDS Gen Bipin Rawat.

Thirdly, he says that its a great loss as the Journalist has lost his life.
