New Delhi: Almost five months after Nikita Tomar was murdered in broad daylight, a Faridabad court on Friday gave life imprisonment to both convicts in the case – Touseef and Rehan.
Earlier on Wednesday, the city’s fast track court had convicted prime accused Touseef and his friend Rehan, in connection with the 2020 Nikita Tomar murder case. The third accused Azruddin, who had supplied the weapon, was acquitted.
Prime accused Touseef was caught on CCTV shooting Nikita Tomar at point-blank range after failed abduction bid. After his arrest, he revealed to the police that he shot Nikita as she was about to get married to someone else.

On October 26, the 21-year-old Nikita Tomar was shot dead outside her college in Ballabgarh. The horrifying incident was caught on camera and as it spilled into public domain, it set off wave of national outrage.

The incident took place when the victim walked out of her college after appearing for an exam. The accused allegedly tried to abduct her in his vehicle and shot her when she tried to resist. Tomar was rushed to the hospital, however, she eventually succumbed to injuries.
