New Delhi: In a new development in Nikki Yadav’s death case, a Delhi police constable among five has been arrested for their involvement in the murder of a young woman whose body was recovered from a fridge last week.
Nikki Yadav was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner Sahil Gehlot with a charging cable.
According to reports, Sahil’s father, his two cousins, and two friends helped him in the conspiracy and then hide her body in the fridge at the family’s dabha, said Police. Also, one of the accused, Sahil’s cousin Naveen, is a constable in the Delhi police.
Delhi Police said that Nikki Yadav was married to the accused since 2020.
It is said that Sahil Gehlot’s family was not happy of his relationship with Nikki. They wanted to get rid of Nikki Yadav so that he could marry another woman.
Police said that the family was pressurizing him to leave Nikki Yadav. Also, Sahil’s family fixed his marriage with another woman in December 2022,
Before marrying another woman, Sahil along with other accused planned to murder Nikki Yadav.
The body of Nikki Yadav was recovered on February 14.
Nikki Yadav’s murder comes months after, Shraddha Walkar was murdered by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawalla last year.
Aftab Poonawala, had killed his live-in partner and then chopped her body into pieces and stored them in a fridge before throwing them away in a jungle.
