New Delhi: Karnataka High Court on Friday said that no hijab, Bhagwa, religious flags will be allowed in classrooms till the Court decide the case.

The Hijab controversy started  on February 4 at the Government Girls PU college in Udupi district in Karnataka after  some students alleged that they were being barred from attending classes.

Also some videos and pictures had gone viral on social media during the protests, which showed some students were allegedly denied entry to college wearing hijab by Muslim women earlier this month.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka government had extended the closure of schools and colleges till the end of this week due to the ongoing Hijab controvery.

On Thursday, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai informed that all the schools in the state will reopen on Monday for classes up to class X. However, the reopening date of colleges has not been announced.
