New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 75-year-old has been awarded a life term for digital rape of a 3-year-old girl under the POCSO Act as well as IPC Section 375.
The incident is said to have taken place at Salarpur village under Sector 39 Noida police station limits.
The convict was identified as Akbar Ali, who is a native of West Bengal village. He was in Noida to visit his married daughter in Salarpur of Noida’s Sector 45.
The victim-a minor is the daughter of a neighbour.
In 2019, an FIR was lodged against Ali on the basis of the statement by the minor girl’s parents.
According to the complaint by the girl’s parents, Ali had lured the little girl on the pretext of getting her a candy and took her to his house where he digitally raped her.
Soon after this, the little girl who was scared of Ali returned home crying and told her mother everything that the accused did to her.
Following which the victims parents rushed to the police station and filed a written complaint against the accused after which which a medical examination of the victim was conducted which confirmed rape.
Ever since, Ali has been in district jail.
On Tuesday (August 30), the court of district and sessions judge Anil Kumar Singh pronounced Ali to life in prison on the basis of circumstantial evidence, medical report, and other eight testimonies.
The Court has also slapped Ali with a fine of Rs 50,000.
Earlier, a 50-year old identified as Manoj Lala was arrested for digitally raping a seven-month-old girl child under the Noida Phase-3 police station area.
Also in June 2022, a father was accused of digitally raping his five-year-old kid in Noida Extension’s high-rise society. An FIR was lodged after his wife, mother of the kid alleged that she realised the offense after the girl complained of genital pain.
