Noida police rescue 11-year-old boy from kidnappers within 24 hrs, recover Rs 29 lakh ransom

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh police on Monday successfully rescued a 11-year-old boy from kidnappers following two separate gunfights with the police in Greater Noida.

In the firing, a police officer was also injured and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Abhishek Verma said that the child was kidnapped by the suspects on Saturday who had demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh from his family, based in Luksar village.

On Sunday,  an FIR was lodged at the local Ecotech 1 police station and soon an investigation was launched, the officer said.

On Monday, the family provided the the ransom amount to the unidentified kidnappers around 6 am, with officials involved in the probe. The kidnappers had asked the child’s father to drop the money-filled bag at an isolated location.

Also, the kidnappers asked the child’s father to proceed to a different location where the child was kept confined, the movement was closely monitored the investigating police team.

After the boy was reunited by his family at around 7:00 am. The police team, based on information, set up checks on several road points in the area and were able to catch hold of two kidnappers.

According to the reports, the kidnappers were on a motorcycle.

Police said the motorcycle and Rs 29 lakh were seized from his possession.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Alok Singh met the kid and the family.

Also, a reward of Rs 50,000 was announced  for the police team who was involved in the case. He also visited the  hospital to meet the injured police official Varun Panwar.
