New Delhi: Google on Sunday shared a beautiful doodle to celebrate Persian New Year or Nowruz 2022. Google added the doodle on its homepage that depicts the colours of spring. It is considered to be the first day of Spring by the Iranians. The day marks the beginning of Farvardin which is the first month of the Solar Hijri calendar.
Google’s Doodle on Nowruz
The new Google Doodle is full of colourful flowers, showing the colours of spring. It features six big flowers along with small flowers. Moreover, Google added some bees and a musical instrument that looks like a guitar.
Moreover, Google shared some behind the scene photos on a website dedicated to doodles.

Wishing Happy Nowruz, Google also shared the importance of the day.
”Nowruz is one of the oldest holidays and has a rich history that dates back over 3,000 years. The 13-day celebration begins with the vernal equinox when the sun crosses the equator. This widely symbolizes rebirth and the affirmation of life in harmony with nature,” said Google.
The search engine giant also wrote, ”The northern hemisphere is saying goodbye to cold, barren landscapes and hello to spring’s budding leaves and blooming flowers. Millions around the world put on festivals, feasts and enjoy outdoor activities in celebration of Nowruz, the first day of spring and the official start to Persian New Year.”
According to Google, many people celebrate the day by cleaning their houses, visiting friends and neighbours. They also prepare ”traditional dishes such as special desserts, herb rice, and fried fish.”
