New Delhi: In a bizarre incident, a seven-month-old female dog named Jelly was married to her male partner Tommy with all Indian rituals including Pheras.

A video from such an incident surfaced and got viral. The video includes everything starting from the grand procession, feast, pandit during traditional rituals in the mandap with the bride and the groom and the participants in the wedding grooving to the drum beats with shenanigans.

The event took place in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The dogs reportedly got married to each other just like a human wedding which includes, dhols, baraat, phera, varmala etc.

According to the reports, the owner of the male dog Tommy is Dinesh Chaudhary who is the former head of the village Sukhravali. Meanwhile, the owner of the female dog is Dr. Ramprakash Singh who is a resident of Tikri Raipur under Atrauli. They spent around 40,000 to 45,000 for the wedding.

Following the Indian traditional ritual, the wedding of the two was fixed through an ‘arrange marriage’ for January 14. It was on the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti which is considered Shubh for weddings.

A grand procession was arranged for the exceptional marriage ceremony, complete with the battering of ‘dhols’ and the garlanding of both the married couple. Tommy was also groomed as a bridegroom and applied ‘Tilak’ by participants from Jelly’s family. Then came Tommy’s ‘baraat’ ceremonies, with most of the ‘baraatis’ passionately twirling to dhol sounds.

Following this, the auspicious garlands were exchanged by both the bride and groom. Towards the end, vidaai rituals were also performed by the bride’s family.
