Here’s why Bengaluru is starting to see traffic lights in the shape of hearts

Internet users have been astonished by images of the heart-shaped traffic lights, with many sharing a glimpse of the new signals.

New Delhi: Have you ever noticed or wondered what it would look like if traffic lights took the form of a heart? In order to urge the IT city to become a “heart smart city,” Bengaluru’s traffic lights have taken on the shape of a heart.

Internet users have been astonished by images of the heart-shaped traffic lights, with many sharing a glimpse of the new signals, while others are perplexed as to why some of the red signals changed shape.

According to the article, Manipal Hospitals constructed these red lights in the shape of a heart in collaboration with the Bengaluru Traffic Police and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). In the city, up to 15 signals have been changed as part of a campaign for World Heart Day.

According to a tweet from the hospital network, Manipal Hospitals installed technologies to inspire Bangalore to become a “heart smart city” in honour of # WorldHeartDay.These included the red signal having a heart-shaped form, audio messages promoting heart health, and QR codes enabling quick access to emergency services rather than dialling a number. Here are some images from the same scene.

The management at Manipal Hospitals has placed QR codes close to traffic signals in addition to these freshly fitted lights. These codes can be scanned to connect a victim to an emergency number and, with a single click, send them to ambulance services. The goal is to offer assistance at the touch of a button in times of need when it is impossible to call and inquire about medical assistance in various locations.
