People observe mourning in different parts of Gujarat for Morbi victims

In the state-wide mourning, Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel joined the peace ceremony organised at Ahmedabad for the peace of the souls of the deceased.

New Delhi: Following the Morbi bridge mishap, many people in different parts of Gujarat observed mourning on November 2. In the state-wide mourning, Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel joined the peace ceremony organised at Ahmedabad for the peace of the souls of the deceased. Amid the state-wide mourning, national flags were flown at half-mast on government buildings in the state.

Moreover, all the entertainment programmes were cancelled across the state. Notably, the CM had declared one-day mourning a day ago on Twitter.

Notably, the ropeway bridge collapsed on the evening of October 30 at around 6:30 PM. In the Incident over 130 people lost their lives. It is reported over 500 people were available on the bridge when the bridge collapsed.

Yesterday, PM Modi arrived at Morbi to inspect the situation at the bridge. He also visited the injured persons who are admitted to the public hospital after the incident.
