PM Modi meets BAPS delegation during BRICS Summit in South Africa

The prime minister also appreciated the preservation of Indian culture and values by BAPS devotees over many generations and the mandir’s potential to further strengthen India-South Africa relations.

New Delhi: During his trip to South Africa for the annual BRICS Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the BAPS delegation. The delegation presented a 3D model, renditions, photographs and progress updates of the upcoming BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir and Cultural Complex in Johannesburg.

Swami explained to the Prime Minister how the mandir complex will serve the cultural and spiritual needs of the current and future generations, and that it will stand as a beacon of inspiration, service, and harmony for people of all faiths and backgrounds in the Rainbow Nation.

The Prime Minister also appreciated the preservation of Indian culture and values by BAPS devotees over many generations and the mandir’s potential to further strengthen India-South Africa relations.

Following the meeting, BAPS delegates shared the project details and the mandir’s role in community-building with summit attendees, who expressed great admiration for this one-of-a-kind project in Africa.
