PM Modi receives sculpture of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose from Arun Yogiraj

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday received a beautiful sculpture of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose from Mysuru based sculpturist Arun Yogiraj.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday received a beautiful sculpture of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The sculpture was gifted by Mysuru based sculpture Arun Yogiraj. After receiving the gift, PM Modi also tweeted the same. He also thanked him for sharing the exceptional sculpture.

He also shared a photo, taking the sculpture from Yogiraj. It is a two-feet tall idol made up of a single stone, called monolithic.

”Glad to have met Arun Yogiraj today, Grateful to him for sharing this exceptional sculpture of Netaji Bose,” read the tweet of PM Modi.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is a known Indian Nationalist who played a significant role in India’s freedom from the Britishers. During the days of India’s struggle for Independence, he founded ‘Azad Hind fauj’.

He has left a mark in the hearts of many Indians by giving a slogan, ‘Tum Mujhe Khoon Do, Main Tumhe Aazadi Dunga’. His other famous slogans are ‘Jai Hind’ and ‘Delhi Chalo’.

Bose was born at Odisha’s Cuttack on January 23, 1897. He was the son of Janakinath Bose and Prabhavati Devi. He married Emily Schenkl. He died on 18 August 1945.

Who is Arun Yogiraj?

Arun Yogiraj grew up with stones and his bond with the art is natural as he comes from a sculpture family. He is the fifth generation sculpture in his family. In his family, there have been four poplular artists that include Chowdappa Achar, Basavana Achara, Basavana Shilpi, and Yogiraj Shilpi.

Arun is the son of Yogiraj Shilpi who was also known for sculptures.
