PM Modi to be in Shillong on March 7 for the swearing in ceremony of Conrad Sangma as CM of Meghalaya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the swearing in ceremony of Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the swearing in ceremony of Conrad Sangma as Chief Minister of Meghalaya.

Conrad Sangma will be sworn as the CM of the state on March 7.

Conrad Sangma will be taking oath of the office as the CM of Meghalaya for a consecutive second term. The swearing-in ceremony of Meghalaya CM will be held at Raj Bhawan in Shillong where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be present.

PM Modi will be arriving in Shillong at at 11 am. PM will leave for Nagaland after attending the ceremony in Shillong.

Ernest Mawrie, BJP state president said that he has asked Conrad Sangma to induct two of its MLAs in the new state cabinet.

The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) had exteded its support to NPP to form the Government in the state soon after the result were announced for Meghalaya Elections 2023.

In 2023 Meghalaya Assembly Elections, National People’s Party (NPP) emerged as the single-largest party in  securing 26 seats out of the 60-seat in the Assembly Elections.

The NPP will form an alliance with the BJP to form a coalition government as BJP won two seats in the polls. On March 2, 2023, the votes were counted and the results were announced.
