New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on December 24, addressed the 75th Amrut Mahotsav celebrations by Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot Sansthan. During his virtual address, he talked about history and developments to leave behind the colonial mindset. Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot Sansthan, established by seer Shri Dharmajivandasji Swami, gives educational facilities to about 25,000 students and PM Modi joined them in the celebrations.
PM Modi said that the slave mentality of the previous government did not allow the glorification of our great education system. He said that teachers and priests ensured that our traditions and value-based education were provided at Swaminarayan Gurukul. He praised the Gurukul for teaching poor students for just a rupee.
PM said that from ‘Social Science to Solar Science, Maths to Metallurgy, and from Zero to Infinity’, India has worked in all spheres. He added that on the occasion of 75 years of independence, it is important to realise that the education system and education institutes play a great role in building a bright future for the youth. He said that the number of IITs, IIITs and AIIMS has increased and since 2014, the number of medical colleges has risen by 65%. He added that governmental programs like Digital India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make In India, and Vocal for Local, along with efforts in a holistic manner will transform every life in India.
