PM Modi visits Jana Shakti exhibition on themes from ‘Mann Ki Baat’

Jana Shakti is an exhibition of works by India’s top artists covering the themes and issues discussed in PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat.

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi visited the Jana Shakti exhibition at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Delhi. Jana Shakti is an exhibition of works by India’s top artists covering the themes and issues discussed in PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat. The exhibition covers themes such as Swachhata (cleanliness and sanitation), agriculture, women empowerment, water conservation, space, India’s northeast, yoga, and Ayurveda.

Atul Dodiya, Paresh Maity, Jagannath Panda, Iranna GR, and Manu and Madhavi Parekh are among the 12 artists who contributed to the exhibition.

PM Modi lit a lamp at NGMA to inaugurate the exhibition and took a close look at the paintings and artifacts exhibited. The exhibition had various paintings, sculptures, photographs, and other artworks depicting the radio show ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

The exhibition took place to mark the occasion of the 100th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ hosted by PM Modi on April 30. The centenary episode was lauded globally by celebrities, politicians, the United Nations, and global entrepreneurs including Bill Gates.

There were community broadcasting events for the 100th episode held by BJP leaders and ministers and people also shared their pictures while listening to the radio show. UNESCO’s director-general Audrey Azoulay was also featured in the episode as she asked PM Modi about India’s contribution to global education and culture.

The radio program began on 3 October 2014 and soon became a mode of the government’s outreach to citizens, with the Prime Minister addressing various social issues. ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is aired in 22 Indian languages and 29 dialects, and 11 foreign languages including French, Chinese, and Indonesian. According to reports, the broadcast has connected with about 100 crore people in some or the other way and has helped in bringing behavioural change among many Indians.
