New Delhi: Bowing under pressure from majority of its MPs, the Shiv Sena on Tuesday officially announced support for the NDA presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu. Out of 19 Sena, at least 16 MPs demanded that party must support NDA pick in the Presidential elections slated for July 18.
Sanjay Raut said that the party has decided to support Murmu but that doesn’t mean that they are supporting the BJP.
“Shiv Sena has decided to support Murmu for presidential election but this does not mean we are supporting BJP,” Sanjay Raut said on Tuesday.
The presidential elections are scheduled to be held on July 18. No party can issue any whip for the presidential elections and MPs have the choice to vote as per their will.
