PM Modi on two-day Varanasi visit from Sunday, to launch projects worth more than Rs 19,000 crore

Upon reaching Kashi on Sunday afternoon, the Prime Minister will be welcomed by State Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, after which he will spend about 25 hours in Kashi.

Varanasi: In a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate 37 projects valued at over Rs 19,000 crore for the development of Kashi and Purvanchal on Sunday.

Upon reaching Kashi on Sunday afternoon, the Prime Minister will be welcomed by State Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, after which he will spend about 25 hours in Kashi.

PM to inaugurate the second edition of Kashi Tamil Sangamam

On the first day of his visit to Varanasi, Prime Minister Modi will launch the second edition of Kashi Tamil Sangamam in the evening from Namo Ghat. At this event, he will flag off the Kashi Tamil Sangamam Express, which will embark on its journey from Kanyakumari to Varanasi.The occasion will witness the participation of 1400 dignitaries from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, who will visit Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya during the event scheduled from December 17 to 31.

In addition to the cultural exchange, an exhibition showcasing the rich tapestry of art, music, handlooms, handicrafts, cuisine, and other distinctive products from both Tamil Nadu and Kashi is also on the agenda. The program will further feature cultural events that highlight the unique traditions of Kashi and Tamil Nadu.

The second edition of Kasi Tamil Sangamam will encompass lectures covering literature, ancient texts, philosophy, spirituality, music, dance, drama, yoga, and Ayurveda. Additionally, seminars are planned on topics such as Innovation, Trade, Knowledge Exchange, Edutech, and Next-Gen Technology.

Notable dignitaries including Governor Anandi Ben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, State Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, and Union Minister of State Dr. L Murugan will also be in attendance during this significant event.

PM will gift 37 projects worth Rs 19K crores

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra program at Barki Gram Sabha of Sewapuri development block on Monday, the second day of his visit. PM Modi will also gift 37 projects worth Rs 19,155 crore to Kashi and Purvanchal from here.

Among these projects,, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects, including roads and bridges, health and education, police welfare, smart city and urban development projects, railways, and airports.

Notably, this also includes the inauguration of a dedicated freight corridor project exceeding Rs 10,000 crore, connecting New Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay to New Bhaupur. Additionally, PM Modi will inaugurate the Lahartara-Phulwaria-Shivpur four-lane road, completed at a cost of Rs 166 crore.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister is set to inaugurate the Swaraved Mahamandir Dham situated in Chaubepur Umrah, Varanasi. During this occasion, PM Modi will actively participate in the organization of the Swarved Gyan Mahayagya, featuring 25,000 Kundis. An estimated three lakh individuals from India and abroad are expected to partake in this grand event.

The Prime Minister may also visit and offer prayers at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham and the Kaal Bhairav Temple. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has overseen the preparations for the Prime Minister’s arrival programs, ensuring their smooth execution.

Major projects to be inaugurated

The Prime Minister is set to inaugurate several significant projects, with notable ones including the Lahartara-Phulwaria-Shivpur 4-lane road and 2 rail over bridges. Other notable initiatives comprise the widening and strengthening of 20 rural and urban roads, the establishment of a 200-bed capacity barrack in PAC Bhullanpur, and a 150-bed capacity barrack in Police Line.

Other significant projects include the construction of a 132/33 KV MVA power substation in Alaipur, the dedicated freight corridor connecting New Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction to New Bhaupur Junction, the doubling of the railway line in the Ballia-Ghazipur City section, and the gauge conversion of the Indara-Dohrighat railway line section. Moreover, a new bypass chord line between Jaunpur Junction and Jaunpur City, along with the expansion of facilities at Baitalpur and enhancements at the Deoria Petroleum Depot, are also part of the comprehensive development initiatives set to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister is set to lay the foundation stone for several major projects in Varanasi. These include the establishment of an 800 MW Solar Park in Chitrakoot, the development of a New Petroleum Terminal in Mirzapur, and the widening of Varanasi Bhadohi NH 731B (Package 2). Additionally, the foundation stone will be laid for 69 drinking water projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission (Rural), as well as for crucial initiatives at Kashi Hindu University.

Specifically, the projects encompass the construction of a 150-bed Critical Care Hospital at the Trauma Centre, the widening and strengthening of 13 roads, the establishment of a new integrated secondary residential school for disabled students, and the redevelopment of 8 Ganga Ghats in Varanasi. Furthermore, the foundation stone will be laid for the creation of sub-lanes on the railway line near Alaipur and Nakkighat in Varanasi city. These endeavors collectively represent a significant commitment to infrastructure, healthcare, education, and environmental improvement in the region.

The major projects for which the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone from Varanasi include 800 MW Solar Park in Chitrakoot, New Petroleum Terminal in Mirzapur, the widening of Varanasi Bhadohi NH 731B (Package 2), 69 drinking water projects under Jal Jeevan Mission (Rural), and 150 bedded Critical Care Unit in Trauma Center of Kashi Hindu University.
