Cops nab absconding mastermind of immigration racket at IGI airport

New Delhi: The Punjab team of IGI airport on Wednesday apprehended Manjeet alias Babbu, the absconding mastermind of international immigration racket. With this arrest, the cops have broken the back of immigration racket operating across the country. It is learnt that the racket had its nexus across the country and they were providing fabricated documents to the agents, operating in states like Punjab & Haryana.

These immigration agents used to hoodwink local people & duped money from them on pretext of sending them abroad for financial well-being. In one such case, the accused agents provided 5 tourist visas to students. Later, when the embassy inspected the veracity of these visas, they were found to be fake & forged.

A case of cheating people was registered against the accused persons, on complaint of Gurnoor Singh in which he had alleged that the accused person namely Amit Gaur contacted him through social media to give references of the clients for the tourist visa and study visa of Australia. He induced the complainant on the pretext of his connections with agents operating in India and abroad. Based on the inducement, complainant referred 5 students from his IELTS training institute to the accused persons for Australian tourist visa. Allegedly a sum of INR 18 Lakh was given to the accused person and his associates to process their visa.

The accused persons provided 5 tourist visas issued in the name of the students. Later when the said VISAS were verified from the embassy it was found that all the visas provided by the accused person were fake. Hence, the present case was registered.

The agents specialized in making fake VISAs and other travelling documents and were operating an entire office wherein they made fabricated travel documents. It was found that the agent Nitin Nazara and Vijay Kumar were operating along with the main mastermind of the syndicate Manjeet@ Babbu and they specialized in making fabricated travel documents of all the countries. It was also learnt that they were operating across India and were constantly providing fabricated documents to the agents operating in Punjab and Haryana.

A huge recovery of 19 Passports, 26 Forged VISAS, 2000+Blank VISAS of different countries, 165 forged visa stamps, 127 VISA making dies, 08 High Quality professional printing and Laminating machines, 35 PR cards of different countries, 1150 Blank Plastic cards used for making fabricated Adhaar Cards, PR Cards and Driving License with engraved Chips and other incriminating material was made from their possession.

From the custodial interrogation of the arrested agent, it was ascertained that agent Manjeet @ Babbu was the master mind of the entire nexus spread across the country. Manjeet Singh @ Babbu was on the run for sometime and was trying to evade his arrest for long time. Continuous raids were conducted at all the possible hideouts and the team zeroed on the movement of accused in Punjab. The relentless efforts of the team yielded result, when the team intercepted the agent on 13.11.2022 in Punjab. The accused is presently on Police remand till 18.11.2022.
