New Delhi: Punjabi film actor Kartar Cheema has landed into big trouble. National Student Union of India (NSUI) president Akshay Sharma has accused Cheema of getting threat calls against him by a Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar for returning back Rs 25 lakh that he had borrowed from him.
On Monday, when the two had a face-off on Lawrence Road, Sharma along with his colleagues caught the Punjabi artist and handed him over to the Para Military Force stationed there. Later, Civil Line Police took Kartar Cheema into their custody and released him after questioning.
According to the report in The Tribune, a monetary dispute is said to be the main reason behind Kartar’s altercation. Civil Lines SHO Amolakdeep Singh Kahlon also said that the matter has been probed.
Sharma has accused Punjabi artist Kartar Cheema of not returning Rs 25 lakh for making a film sometime back.
He claimed that he was threatened by a phone call from the gangster Goldie Brar when he demanded his money back from Cheema. Sharma has also accused AAP leaders of reaching the police station in support of the Punjabi artist.
Who is Goldy Brar
For the unversed, Satinder Singh aks Goldy Brar is a Canada based gangster, and is a close aide of shooter Lawrence Bishnoi. Both are wanted criminals by the Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab police.
Brar, who has been involved in an extortion racket being run in Punjabi, recently took complete responsibility for the gruesome killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala on Sunday.
Sidhu was shot dead at Jwahar Ke village in Mansa district of Punjab.
