New Delhi: Dragging Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name in Pegasus snooping controversy, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday alleged that the Centre is trying to intrude into the lives of common people, especially the youth by inserting Pegasus snooping spyware into their mobile phones.

Lashing out at the Centre for its alleged attempt to sneak into the lives of people, Rahul said, “Brothers and sisters, your mobile phone is your voice. You can express yourself through this mobile phone. But, you must understand that Narendra Modi has put Pegasus inside your phones. Not only inside my phone.

“The idea of Pegasus has been inserted into the phones of the youth by PM Modi,” he added.

Centre silencing the youth of the nation, claims Rahul

Rahul Gandhi also said that the Israeli spyware was being used to muzzle the voice and silence of nation’s youth. He also exhorted and urged the youth of the nation to raise their voice against ‘virtual atrocities’ and said once the youth starts speaking, the Modi government will crumble.

Rahul Gandhi was one of the most prominent leaders to be potential targets of surveillance under the Pegasus snooping row. Along with Rahul, about 40 political leaders & journalists were reportedly under surveillance.

Opposition has been attacking the government over the Pegasus snooping controversy and accused it of spying, the Centre, as well as BJP, has denied all charges.
