Rahul Gandhi unfurls national flag at Lal Chowk, netizens angry on his cutout being bigger than tricolour

The cutout being bigger than the national flag was taken as an insult to the nation and the national symbol by many and they took to Twitter to call it a shameful act.

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi unfurled the national flag at Lal Chowk in Srinagar as the Bharat Jodo Yatra entered its last leg in Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, a cutout of the Congress MP was placed on the occasion and netizens reacted angrily as the national flag looks smaller than Rahul’s cutout. The Bharat Jodo Yatra has been again dragged into a controversy.

The cutout being bigger than the national flag was taken as an insult to the nation and the national symbol by many and they took to Twitter to call it a shameful act. Meanwhile, others were concerned about him unfurling the flag even after his statements about ‘outsiders’ in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed from the National Highway-44, Banihal Railway station after Congress raised the concern over the security breach. Security was tightened in the wake of the recent twin blasts on the outskirts of Jammu city on January 22 which left at least nine people injured.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which started in Kanyakumari on September 7, will travel to Nehru Park in the Boulevard area of the city and will conclude on January 30. This will make Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra cover 3,970 km, 12 states, and two Union territories.
